Billy Estrada

For the last 13 years singer/songwriter Billy Estrada has performed his brand of blues based, multi-flavored music throughout the Central Coast of California.  He has been described as “combining the vocals of Ray Charles with the guitar of B. B. King while throwing in some healthy doses of blues harp and slide guitar.“ Good music is all about soul and Billy has soul.  Estrada has coined his sound “Soul-Filled”.  “Sure, Blues is at the foundation of who I am and what I do, there’s no escaping that. I don’t care what genre; music is good when it penetrates your thought process, is raw, fully poured into, and captivates you wherever you are in life - whenever you need it. That's the only kind of music I'm interested in playing or listening to."  

Perhaps most recognized as a band-fronting bluesman for his group Spoonfed Lightning or the former, Soul Reaction, Estrada’s talent truly begins with songwriting. In 2006, his band Soul Reaction achieved success through local press and airplay with their album, "The Beauty of Life", in which all songs were written by Estrada. Whether as a songwriter or a performer, Estrada strives for authenticity, knowing that listeners can hear the truth. Estrada also has a spiritual, yet little known connection to Gospel music, both as a songwriter and previous worship leader for two churches in his local area.  His song “Meet the King” received local acclaim and was regularly performed by other congregations.   Billy and his band members have also given their time to perform for charities in support of activities such as the Special Olympics and Epilepsy Awareness.    

Moving into 2012, Estrada continues to perform a variety of dates and venues across the Central Coast.  He also recently wrote a jingle for Payne’s Perfection, a California Pickle distributor.    

It’s very rare to come across a musician who is heart and soul driven and at the same time a great player and singer. His music is not to be missed.
